You can request permanent deletion of your Plantrees account, or of specific data without deleting your account, at any time using the methods below. This page applies to the Plantrees app and website operated by Plantrees.
Delete your entire account
Use either of the two methods below to permanently delete your whole account and all of its associated data.
Option 1: Delete from within your account (recommended)
If you can still sign in, you can permanently delete your account yourself in a few steps:
- Log in to your Plantrees account.
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Select Manage account.
- Open the Security tab.
- Click Delete account and confirm.
Your account and associated data are deleted immediately once confirmed.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you can no longer sign in, email us at plantrees.app@gmail.com from (or clearly stating) the email address associated with the account you want deleted. To protect your account, we verify your identity before processing the request, and we complete verified deletions within 30 days.
Delete specific data without deleting your account
If you want to delete some of your data, such as particular goals, trees, todos, or calendar entries, without deleting your entire account, email us at plantrees.app@gmail.com from (or clearly stating) the email address associated with your account, and specify which data you would like removed. To protect your account, we verify your identity before processing the request, and we complete verified deletions within 30 days.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove all data associated with it, including:
- Your account and profile information (such as your email).
- Your goals and trees.
- Your todos, calendar entries, reminders, and schedules.
- Your targets, statistics, and analytics data.
- Your collaboration data and invitations.
What data is kept, and retention period
- Your app data is deleted permanently and immediately upon confirmed deletion.
- Payment and invoice records held by our payment processor (Stripe) are retained only as required by law for tax and accounting purposes.
- Residual copies of your data in encrypted backups are purged within 30 days.
